Frequently asked questions

I am a second time Mum, which class should I choose?
You are welcome at all of our classes, but the most popular for second (and third plus) timers is Daisy Birthing and or our Active Birth Couples Workshop.

Do I need to do a couples class AND Daisy Birthing?
You can do both (one of our couples courses AND Daisy Birthing) if you want. The beauty of doing both, is you learn all of the education in a more classroom based environment in the couples course, giving you a chance to ask questions etc. Plus your birth partner gets to really understand what you are doing and why, enabling them to be a really positive support in the delivery room.

Daisy Birthing will give you (as mum) a full antenatal education, however as it is a girls only class, many want their birth partner to get involved in the education also. For first time couples or those that want a full blown couples class I recommend Mummas Complete, this gives you 6wks traditional education led by a Midwife, Baby Feeding expert and Postnatal Leader.

For second timers or those already doing other antenatal classes or just not wanting quite so much couple time, the 4hr Active Birth workshop is perfect. Lastly our Mummas Essentials is a shorter couples course incorporating both Active Birth plus Practical Newborn Baby Care.

What is the difference between Pregnancy Yoga & Daisy Birthing?
Daisy Birthing is a movement based birth prep/education class, so we incorporate elements of yoga and hypnobirthing but combined into an all encompassing class. If you have done Yoga you may recognise some of our movements but  many mums will do pregnancy yoga alongside Daisy Birthing.

Should I do 6 or 12wks of Daisy Birthing?
Each Daisy Birthing course runs in blocks of 6. Each week, over the course of 6wks, you will learn a different education topic, so a minimum of 6 is recommended. Each block of 6 is the same and as an ideal we say more than one block of 6 if you can. Daisy Birthing works on building muscle memory, the more you do, the more you learn, and we want the movement, breathing techniques and relaxation to become inherent. Many mums say the first block of 6 they learn, the second block of 6 they relax into it, you can then of course come back for more pay as you go if you need a refresher towards the end.

Our Mums Say:

"Nicky's laid back, friendly and supportive approach is a huge relief during the early days of being a new parent. The calming techniques she taught me were an absolute lifesaver and I honestly don't know what we'd have done without her. Thank you so much Nicky!"

"I just thought I'd add, that I've really enjoyed the Daisy Birthing sessions, I think they are utterly brilliant, and have definitely prepared me for the impending birth - dare I say I'm actually looking forward to it??!?"

"These classes were the favourite part of my week from birthing right through to rising one. I will be back with baba number two!"

"I want to say a huge thank you to you for adding so much to my maternity leave. Through Daisy Birthing I've made friends who have been a huge support to both me and Cleo and will continue to be a big part of our lives. I hope you know what a community of happy and confident Mums you're developing through Mummas. Thank you."
